Netflix Announces Slate Of 2026-2027 Anime And Adult Animated Series, Including ‘Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2’ And More

Netflix fans will know that Netflix has been trying to add more and more anime and animated content to the streaming service. Probably to replace certain animated series that they’ve been slowly removing like She-Ra: Princesses of Power, but that’s a story for later. For now, we’re looking at what lies ahead for Netflix in the animation department. Fortunately, at the very least, Netflix is replacing the lost animated media with more shows.

Netflix is proud to announce a brand new slate of anime and adult animated series incoming to the streaming platform in 2026-2027. The list of new series is quite extensive, and includes sequels to some pretty famous and critically acclaimed series. As you can see by the title, that list includes the highly anticipated second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. We’re also getting the second season of Blue Eye Samurai, and the second season of Sakamoto Days for those sequel series. However, we’re also getting entirely new original anime and animated series, including The One Piece, Bass x Machina, and more.

Now that’s enough out of me for now. Here’s a full list of what Netflix has incoming for us in the anime and animated department below:

Netflix Adding Entire Slate of Anime and Adult Animation to Streaming Platform

At the very least, it looks like we’re getting quite a bit of new shows incoming to Netflix. Specifically: anime and Western animated shows. They even look quite good to boot. I’m willing to bet that most people will be most excited for that second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The first season was just too popular and well-known for that second season to not be. Especially since Studio Trigger are clearly going for an entirely new storyline for that second season.

However, other shows are worth paying attention to too. In particular, Fool Night looks like it might be a sleeper hit for Netflix. It’s the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Kasumi Yasuda, and it’s basically a horror-drama story set in a postapocalyptic world where humans can be turned into plants. It’s a very strange concept, but the story seems to be pulling it off in a truly horrific manner. I suspect that horror fans will be very interested in this new anime.

Not just that, but Bass x Machina also looks like it’s a show worth paying attention to. It’s basically a Weird Western story about a Black bounty hunter in a steampunk Western world. With a political climate that’s increasingly hostile towards any depiction of anyone who’s not white, it’s quite refreshing to see Netflix at least try to buck that trend.

What do you all think? Are you looking forward to any of these shows on Netflix? Tell us your anime and animated thoughts in the comments section below.
