BoxLunch Getting Us New Studio Ghibli Apparel

By now in 2026, Studio Ghibli has become a household name even outside of its home nation of Japan. After 41 years of operation since its founding in 1985, it has made a name for itself as basically the Disney of Japan. For decades, this animation studio has produced some of the best animated films in the world, focusing on deep philosophical themes while still staying family-friendly. The result is that their movies such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and Spirited Away have become timeless classics even outside of Japan. Thus, you can explain why merch from those movies is so popular even in the international market. And now, as you can see by the title of this story, we’re about to get some more of that.

BoxLunch is proud to announce that they are launching a new apparel collection featuring the Studio Ghibli anime films. The collection is quite extensive, consisting of both a wide variety of “apparel, accessories, and home goods” featuring some of the most famous of Studio Ghibli’s anime films such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and more of Studio Ghibli’s classic anime films. And best of all, all of these new apparel are actually on sale right now directly from BoxLunch’s webstore. Well, to be precise: some of them are preorders rather than outright sales. However, even the preorders will be available fairly soon, at least by October 2026. Thus, you won’t have long to wait before you too can get some of these new Studio Ghibli-themed clothing and accessories.

BoxLunch Giving Us Studio Ghibli Apparel…for a Price

On one hand, these new Studio Ghibli movie-themed apparel BoxLunch is giving us looks amazing. There’s such a wide variety of clothing on sale, from hoodies to jerseys to aprons to jackets. Not only that, but the styles of the clothing varies wildly in a nice aesthetic. You’ve got a mix of clothes that look cool and fashionable for the chic and hip audience, and then you’ve got the cute clothes for those who want something more comfortable for a more casual setting. Honestly, the abundance of clothing that looks warm and cozy should clue you all in that this is definitely aimed at an audience looking for some clothes to weather this autumn with.

The one catch? The prices. Take the Calcifer cardigan for instance. On BoxLunch’s own website, the cost of that cardigan goes up to $64.90, not counting taxes, shipping and handling, and tariff costs. Even the Jiji beanie, which should be not all that expensive due to being much smaller than actual clothes, costs $24.90, also not counting additional costs. To me, these massive costs seem to be an indicator of just how bad off we are right now economically. Honestly, it looks as though not a whole lot of average people will be able to reasonably afford these new apparel. You all might want to save up some money if you do.
