‘Flint’ Trailer: Josh Holloway Brings Louis L’Amour’s Western Classic to the Screen

The first trailer has arrived for the upcoming Western Flint, starring Josh Holloway and based on the classic novel of the same name by legendary author Louis L’Amour. The film will make its world premiere on September 25 as part of the Nashville Film Festival. Holloway is best known for his role as Sawyer on J.J. Abrams’ ABC series Lost. More recently, he starred in the criminally canceled HBO Max series Duster. Flint is written and directed by Ryan Whitaker, with Holloway also serving as a producer alongside Beau L’Amour, the son of Louis L’Amour.

For Holloway, Flint is more than just another movie. The film is a passion project that the actor has spent years bringing to the screen, finally allowing him to step into one of L’Amour’s most celebrated stories. Speaking with Cowboys & Indians about the film, Holloway discussed the long journey to bring the Western to life.

I came across Flint maybe 28 or 30 years ago, and I loved it. It was a perfect movie. I felt like it just wrote itself. At the time, I was on Lost, and I thought, “Well, I’m going to use this platform.” I always said to my wife, “I’m going to pick up where Clint [Eastwood] left off. I’m going to find that road.” And I think Louis L’Amour is the path to that.
