A new direction for Thor?
If Thor 5 actually happens over at Marvel Studios, Kenneth Branagh has some ideas. The director has been thinking about a reunion with Chris Hemsworth. And, the direction he’s shooting for will have fans excited.
Thor 5 taking the Logan approach?
It’s really been a decade and a half since the first Thor movie hit theaters. And, director Kenneth Branagh has an idea for Thor 5. Business Insider sat down with the fan-favorite filmmaker to chart his course through Hollywood. They had to discuss his early stint with the MCU. With Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon, and Thor’s future up in the air, the director has a few ideas about a Chris Hemsworth reunion.
Namely, to take inspiration from James Mangold’s work with Logan. That X-Men entry is widely celebrated as the best movie involving Wolverine. Well, maybe X-2, but you get the idea. Taking Thor into a more mature phase is something that would appeal to a segment of the audience. Check out what he had to say right here.
“Part of me would love to finish my relationship with that character,” Branagh began. “I’d always wanted to do more and indeed had a couple of ideas, more in the territory of James Mangold’s brilliant Logan. I would love to see Chris Hemsworth and the others have their own individual final story that takes Thor into a glorious twilight.”

Who will direct the next Chris Hemsworth film?
A couple of years ago, Hemsworth celebrated being in the MCU for 15 years. Thor 5 doesn’t have a confirmed director. But, the movie is reportedly still coming after Avengers Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Hemsworth said, “Playing Thor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. For the last 15 years I’ve held Mjolnir and then Stormbreaker as the God of Thunder, but what made it truly special… was sharing it with all of you.”
“Your passion, your cheers, and your love for this character have meant everything to me. Thank you for making my journey through the Marvel Cinematic Universe unforgettable.. Next up, Doomsday!”
