Ryan Coogler’s ‘X-Files’ Reboot Adds A Stacked List Of Guest Stars Including Amy Madigan & Steve Buscemi

The Hulu reboot of The X-Files from Ryan Coogler has landed some serious talent already to play its two leads, but now they’re adding some guest stars that any show would want. Deadline is reporting that they’ve added recent Academy Award-winner Amy Madigan, Steve Buscemi, Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs, Lochlyn Monro, Tantoo Cardinal, Joel D. Montgrad, and Sofia Grace Clifton as guest stars.

They join the two previously announced leads in Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler, who play two highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents. An unlikely bond is formed by them when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to solving cases involving unexplained phenomena.

Ryan Coogler is writing and directing the pilot and serves as an Executive Producer on the show. Original X-Files creator Chris Carter is on board as an EP as well. Jennifer Yale is the showrunner and EP, with Sev Ohanina and Zinzi Coogler as EPs from Proximity Media.

There’s no word on if the show will connect with the previous series or if Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will show up. They both have been interested in the reboot with Coogler involved, but nothing more has come of it.

Some Huge Guest Stars Already Lined Up

The addition of these guest stars is a huge boon for the show. Amy Madigan is fresh off winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in Weapons. She’s also starred in films like American Woman, Antlers, Pollock, Gone Baby Gone, Field of Dreams, Uncle Buck, Places in the Heart and Streets of Fire.

Steve Buscemi is one of the most well-known character actors in Hollywood history. He starred in Boardwalk Empire on HBO and was recently in season 2 of Wednesday. To list his movies would take the whole article, but its safe to say that you know who he is.

Ben Foster recently starred alongside Sydney Sweeney in Christy. Devery Jacobs was the star of Reservation Dogs on FX. Lochlyn Munro is most known for his roles on shows like Peacemaker, Riverdale, and in films like White Chicks, Totally Killer, A Night at the Roxbury, and Unforgiven. Tantoo Cardinal has had a 50-year film and TV career with roles in Killers of the Flower Moon, Dances With Wolves, Black Robe, and Stumptown.
