Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece has to be one of the most successful live-action adaptations of any anime in history. All in spite of some controversial subtle story changes from the original, in addition to some questionable prop designs and CGI choices. All in spite of that, that live-action adaptation has managed to produce a darker and more mature One Piece to complement the light-hearted fun of the original anime and manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda. The proof you need is all in the praise critics and audiences alike are heaping upon both seasons of the Netflix series. It all explains why there’s so much excitement around this upcoming third season. It’s also why any additions to that cast is grabbing quite a bit of attention, which includes this bit of news.
Netflix is proud to announce four more additions to the ever-growing cast of the upcoming One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta. They will add to the existing cast members that currently includes Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji), alongside Charithra Chandran (Miss Wednesday), Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra). In fact, they will also join the previously announced new cast members that includes Cole Escola (Bon Clay), Xolo Maridueña (Portgas D. Ace), Daisy Head (Miss Doublefinger), and Awdo Awdo (Mr. 1).

Synopsis

One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta Gets Four New Cast Members with More to Follow
As you can see, production for One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta appears to be going along quite smoothly. With so many members of the Alabasta Kingdom characters arriving into the cast, it further completes that cast for the upcoming season. Now all we need is to learn who else will be part of that cast, and when we’ll finally get to see this third season.
Fortunately, this announcement does mention that they will announce additional cast at “a later date”. Unfortunately, there’s no news about when we’ll get to see One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta. All we know is that production for that third season has wrapped up in Cape Town, South Africa. We’ll just have to wait for both information at a later date.
