‘Delusion: Den Of The Mosquito’ Brings Back LA’s Best Halloween Event

Delusion, the best Halloween event in the Los Angeles area, is making a return to where it all started. The event’s theme this year is Den of the Mosquito. Thirteenth Floor Entertainment is bringing the event back to the venue that started the whole saga in 2011. The historic Beckett Mansion sees a new Delusion story coming for the first time since 2012.

Director and Creator Jon Braver is bringing darkness back to Delusion in a way that we’ve never seen before with this all-new show. It runs from September 17th to November 8th, 2026.

A New Story, The Same Haunting Interactive Theater

The new show’s synopsis goes like this.

Bloodless corpses.
Strange abductions.
Supernatural sightings.
And a Mayor missing in action.

It’s all bad in 1920’s New Orleans.

In response to the growing threat President Woodrow Wilson forms Anomaly;
a secret organization tasked with investigating supernatural threats.

A disturbing report has come in from a missing agent. It speaks of an ancient
relic, held within a shadowy brothel in the bayou and run by the NOLA Mafia.
The report ends with a cryptic, broken message: “they fight over it— flesh and
blood–feeding like mosquitos.”.

With the scourge spreading fast, it is time to enter the hell that is New
Orleans. As Anomaly’s most available agents, you must find your missing
colleague, inflitrate the brothel and extract whatever bleeds from the bayou.

Set in a brothel in 1920’s New Orleans, you play agents of a secret organization on an impossible task. Guests will become part of a sadistic and supernatural tale of horror, mystery, mobsters, monsters and of course, vampire prostitutes.

I’ve loved every edition of Delusion that I’ve covered going back to 2021 and this sounds like more of the same excellence. The combination of an intimate storyline and a smaller group makes for a horror event that you just don’t get these days. When everyone else is making their events bigger and less friendly to getting scares, Delusion makes it a priority to ensure every guest/attendee is given the best and most frightening experience possible.

Last year’s event Harrowing Of Horror was among the best they’ve ever put on. If you’ve never done Delusion, it works kind of like a horror show and a haunted house all in one. You’re going through an interactive play/story with actors and you’re part of the show. You’re guided through the story and put back out where you started, hopefully a bit more terrified.
