Norm

George came from the Chicago improv landscape as a comedian at The Second City in 1970 before heading to television to become an actor. He was a routine guest on several high-profile shows before landing the role that made him a household name in Cheers. After Cheers, he appeared in the spin-off Frasier, and got his own sitcom called The George Wendt Show. He was also one of the mustachioed SuperFans of the Chicago Bears on Saturday Night Live with Chris Farley, Mike Myers, and Robert Smigel.

He’s one of the most accomplished TV actors ever appearing in shows like George Lopez, Tales From The Crypt, The Twilight Zone, Fresh Off the Boat, Hot In Cleveland, and much more.

He was born October 17th, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois.

George is survived by his wife and three children.

Our thoughts go out to his friends and family during this trying time.
