Scary Movie Extended Cut Arrives on Digital With New Scenes and Bonus Features

The madness is far from over. Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that the Scary Movie Extended Cut will be available to buy or rent on Digital beginning July 21, 2026, bringing fans an even more outrageous version of the horror comedy revival. Featuring additional jokes, brand new scenes, and even more boundary-pushing comedy, the Extended Cut promises to deliver the biggest and most unhinged version of the franchise’s latest chapter.

Directed by Michael Tiddes, the unrated comedy brings back franchise favourites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall alongside a large ensemble cast featuring both returning performers and new faces. The film continues the legacy of the original Scary Movie franchise, which became one of the most successful parody series in movie history by taking aim at some of the biggest horror and pop culture trends of its era.

More Chaos, More Laughs, More Scary Movie

The Extended Cut expands on the theatrical release with additional material designed for longtime fans who want even more of the franchise’s trademark absurd humor. According to Paramount, this version includes more jokes, more madness, and plenty of moments that push the comedy even further than audiences saw in theatres.

The story takes place 26 years after the original massacre, bringing Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray back into another ridiculous battle against a new masked killer. Of course, this killer is just as determined to cause chaos as the previous villains, leading the returning characters into another unpredictable series of horror movie inspired disasters.

The reunion of Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, and Regina Hall is one of the biggest selling points of the new film. The original cast helped define the early 2000s parody comedy boom, and their return gives the movie a direct connection to the franchise’s roots while introducing a new generation of characters.
