The Elusive Samurai Ep. 1 "May 22nd" is quite a way to kick off this anime. It first makes you think that it's going to be a historical slice of life show set in Kamakura, Japan all the way back in the year 1333. However, it reveals itself to be a far bloodier show at the halfway point. Looks like
Twenty years of darkness pass. The events of Rogue One and A New Hope set in motion a push by the light side to regain advantage. A simple attempt to reestablish connections to an old friend by Bail Organa awakens the light side counter attack. Luke Skywalker enters the galactic chess board. After
The Sheep Detectives is a towering testament of how powerful animated stories can be when done right. A genuine crowdpleaser, the film is sure to warm and break your heart, wrestling with richly textured explorations of death and grief, lost and found families, and the necessity of memory.
Though marital arts action cinema is vast and varied, it is rare for one to elevate the genre and push it forward. There have been few recently - The Raid comes to mind, and while not technically "martial arts" I'd argue John Wick counts - that feel as if something new and special is happening.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm has Yuru and his Daemons turn the table on his pursuers in Ep. 4 "Jin and Yuru". It's pretty clearly a case of the hunters becoming the hunted here, and in a very action-packed way to boot. Now we wait and see if this is a good thing for Yuru, or if he has bitten off
