Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group should be known by everyone across the Halloween Haunt industry. They have events across the country, not just here in Southern California. Their panel at Midsummer Scream 2025 focused mostly on their Southern California offerings like LA Haunted Hayride, Delusion, Magic of the Jack ‘O Lanterns, and even a new event at the Winchester Mystery House. They started off their panel with a slide showing off their various Halloween events across the nation.
This just shows how dedicated Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group are to the various Halloween events they do each year. Starting off for SoCal was a new location for Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns though.
The new location taking over from Whittier Narrows is The South Coast Botanic Gardens. The gardens are pretty close by to Long Beach, where Midsummer Scream was held. The new event will feature double the length of walking up from half a mile to a full mile now. It’ll also have a new area called the Enchanted Hollow with new interactive elements.
Delusion was up next and the event is moving to downtown Los Angeles to the historic (and haunted) Variety Arts Theater for 2025.The theme for this year is Delusion: Harrowing Of Hell and it’s inspired by Dante’s Inferno, taking guests into different areas and rooms of sin. The interactive theater horror event kicks off this Fall 2025.
Festival Fright Nights At Winchester Mystery House Shows Off A New Haunt
The newest part of the Thirteenth Floor catalog was Festival Fright Nights at Winchester Mystery House. The new event takes place in the famous house in San Jose, California. The house is the star of the show and they’re drawing from the history of the mansion for the story.
Festival Fright Nights is set in 1924, two years after Sarah Winchester’s death and a new owner has taken over. This is a brand-new Halloween event. They’re using spaces that have never been used for an event before. Festival Fright Nights is split into three experiences at the Winchester Mystery House:
- Masquerade of Shadows
- The Root of All Evil
- The Final Descent
It opens this Halloween season.
LA Haunted Hayride Main Events The Presentation With Surprises
The LA Haunted Hayride is celebrating its seventeenth year with style. Back before it was in this area of Griffith Park, the Hayride took over the old LA zoo. This year, they’re getting more iconic scenes from the first ten years of the event and a revamp to the actual hayride with sound, lighting, and characters.
Gone are the food trucks and other food vendors, now there’ll be food booths and the Midnight Falls Cider Mill for cider and donuts.
As for the haunted mazes at LA Haunted Hayride, the three from last year are all back, with new improvements and updates. First off, Monae Manor with Janelle Monae is back. Hellbilly Halloween is also back and the Jasper family are going to escape the confines of their house to chase guests around the maze area.
What about the third maze, Trick or Treat? Well, we’ll get to that, but first, it was announced that Monty Revolta and his band would also be coming back for LA Haunted Hayride with a new show, twice a night. Monty himself made an appearance at the panel to say that he would actually not be returning because someone bought his house in Midnight Falls.
It turns out, the person who bought Monty Revolta’s house was none other than the Mistress of the Dark, Elvira. She’ll be joining the event as the radio DJ that you hear throughout the event and Trick or Treat is getting an Elvira-themed makeover.
Trick or Treat is now Elvira’s Trick or Treat Mayhem at the LA Haunted Hayride.
That finished up the Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group panel, but they had one last trick up their sleeve with a full Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor panel set for the next day.
Overall, this was a great panel that showed off most of the events that they’re hosting in Southern California.
