Santa Claus Is Back In Town
Santa Claus is back to kick some butt in the new trailer for Violent Night 2. David Harbour stars as the grizzled version of Old Saint Nick again. And, if you loved the first movie, you’re going to dig what Violent Night 2 has to offer. There’s plenty of action and weapons wrapped in Holiday trimmings. It’s hysterical to put Santa Claus into these situations. And, we’re happy to report the concept still has mileage in a second outing. Check out more from this movie down below!

Violent Night 2 Official Trailer Is Chaos
David Harbour is back as Santa Claus in Violent Night 2. And, we’ve got the official trailer with all the chaos for you right here. Kirsten Bell joins the party with a massive sword. After all, Old Saint Nick can probably use the help. It might not seem like it, but the original Violent Night hit the scene back in 2022.
Now, Harbour is back in the sled for another trip to this world with Tommy Wirkola. Apparently, Santa is on the Naughty List this year. And that’s sub-optimal when you’re trapped in a mall with wanted criminals. Jared Harris is their leader and wants to snuff out the Christmas legend. But Mrs. Claus isn’t going to let that go so easily. Check out the trailer up top!
Santa’s Violent Backstory
Director Tommy Wirkola knows that the fans of the first film have some questions about Santa. Namely, how in the world does all this magic work? It’s not enough for that sledgehammer to be awesome. Talking to SlashFilm, the director says that there will be some backstory for the people tracking the story over time.
“The one thing that we learned from the first one, especially in the years after it came out, watching Twitter and David [Harbour], especially when he went to Comic-Cons and spoke to fans, he said one thing that people always asked him about was Santa’s backstory and how he became Santa Claus and the Viking past and all that stuff,” Wirkola teased. “So, of course, going into this one, we wanted to give people a little bit more of that without going overboard.”
What’s The New Movie About?
When Santa forgets the true meaning of Christmas, he finds himself in the heart of a lively mall community in desperate need of his help. Sapped of his magic, he’ll need another way to take on the goons threatening the mall, and time is running out.
Santa has to rediscover his faith in goodness and call in some last-minute reinforcements from the one person no baddie wants to tangle with: Mrs. Claus (Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Kristen Bell).
The dynamic cast includes Emmy-winning screen legend Joe Pantoliano (The Last of Us, The Sopranos), Daniela Melchior (Fast X, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Andrew Bachelor (Greenland, The Walking Dead), and AEW professional wrestler Maxwell Friedman (The Iron Claw, Happy Gilmore 2).
