Witch on the Holy Night will look quite familiar to fans of Fate/stay night and the other Fate anime series and feature-length anime films. After all, they all take place in the same shared Nasuverse universe, named after its creator Kinoko Nasu. That universe is a world of dark fantasy, with magically dark dealings in urban environments being the name of the game. The result is an incredibly popular franchise that includes both visual novels and the anime adaptations of those VNs, and it’s why any of those animes are getting a lot of attention. This includes this current Witch on the Holy Night anime film, and we just got a bit more information about it.
Crunchyroll is proud to debut a brand new official trailer for their upcoming Witch on the Holy Night anime film. That trailer not only confirms that U.S. and Canadian audiences will be able to see this upcoming anime film by animation studio Ufotable (God Eater, Tales of Symphonia, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) on January 29, 2027; but it also showcases some of that anime film’s music. Specifically, that trailer prominently showed off “Yoru to Ao” by supercell, which will be the main theme song for that anime film.
Now as for that new trailer for Witch on the Holy Night itself? Well, you can watch it either on YouTube, or just look below for that and the synopsis (plus production credits) below:

The girl meets a boy.
This is the beginning of one young girl’s story — the tale of a Witch.
Witch on the Holy Night Looking All Set to Rock Out on January 29, 2027

Honestly, if “Yoru to Ao” is anything to go off of, it looks like we’ll get a pretty action-packed anime film experience when we finally get to see Witch on the Holy Night. supercell is doing a marvelous job of providing a very high energy yet upbeat song for us to rock out to when Aoko Aozaki starts blasting apart bad guys with blasts of magical energy. Now all we need is to be able to see the actual scene that this song will be playing to in the background to complete the mental image.
Fortunately, it won’t be long now before we get to actually see Witch on the Holy Night. After all, January 29 is only three months away as of this writing. It’s a pretty short wait for that theatrical debut by any measure. Alas, Nasuverse fans looking for a streaming debut will likely have to wait a couple of months after that theatrical debut in order to be able to stream it on Crunchyroll. Here’s hoping that it’s not too long a wait for us home theater enjoyers.
What do you all think? Are you now even more eager to see Witch on the Holy Night in theaters when next year rolls around? Especially after hearing supercell sing their hearts out in that trailer? Tell us your musically powerful thoughts in the comments section below.
