Fans of oddball slice of life comedy anime series like Nichijou and Azumanga Daioh will find the 2025 anime adaptation of CITY to be familiar. It has that same kind of surreal comedy vibe, featuring a highly quirky cast of characters and bizarre situations one would not normally find in a slice of life show. That kind of formula has caused critics to praise this anime, as well as the manga of the same name by Keiichi Arawi, who as you might notice, is the same creator who created the aforementioned and also widely acclaimed Nichijou. This Collector’s Edition will not only contain all 13 episodes of this anime series in a pair of Blu-ray discs, but also a veritable host of bonus features. Some of those bonus features even include physical bonuses like a booklet showcasing the art of the anime, as well as art cards and a poster.

CITY THE ANIMATION Collector’s Edition Coming to Home Video in December 15, 2026
Honestly, if you like CITY THE ANIMATION or even the manga it was adapted from, then this is the home video release for you. Especially considering the physical media that will come with the Collector’s Edition. They’re nice bonuses for anyone looking to experience more of the behind-the-scenes stuff and commemorative artwork of this anime.
Unfortunately, the sole obstacle to acquiring CITY THE ANIMATION Collector’s Edition is the price tag. At full price, this home video release of this anime will cost $64.99. It’s quite a big chunk of change for most normal people that will make them think twice before reaching into their wallets to pay for it. Fortunately, GKIDS does offer a preorder discount that lowers that price to $52.99 instead, but it’s still a significant amount of money. My advice is that you might want to save up for that discount if you wish to obtain this Collector’s Edition. Even more fortunately, you all have two months as of this writing until this Collector’s Edition officially releases, so you have plenty of time to save up money for that preorder discount.
