‘Crystal Lake’ – Friday The 13th Prequel Sets The Tone With New Trailer

Peacock and A24 have FINALLY unveiled their first look at the upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake. The new series is coming to Peacock this October after going through some creative changes and an extensive shoot. They’ve shown off a new trailer for the series, which you can view below. The new series stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and tells the story of what went on before the first film.

A Great First Look

While the teaser might not be very long, it does show off what the series looks like and what we can expect from it. There’s also that somewhat creepy song that the campers are singing throughout it. Either way, this is just a teaser, but it expands on what they showed us last year during the Jason Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025. Here’s the official synopsis from A24 and Peacock.

A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees? 

Some Pretty Big Names Attached To Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake was originally set to be showran and created by Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller. After some turmoil and changes behind the scenes, Fuller was replaced with Brad Caleb Kane, who worked on shows like It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice, and Warrior. It comes from producers Brad Caleb Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox, and Roy Lee.

The Barsamian family are behind the rebrand of Friday the 13th into Jason Universe, which is the hub that all things in the franchise go under. They oversaw the latest project, Sweet Revenge, which released last year as a short on YouTube. The series stars Linda Cardellini, William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. It also features Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, and Phoenix Parnevik.

Crystal Lake premieres each of its eight hour-long episodes on October 15th. We’ll be seated for anything new from Jason and Friday the 13th, so it’s safe to say we’re excited for Crystal Lake.
