Jason Returns To Our Screens In ‘Crystal Lake’ On October 15th

Jason Voorhees Crystal Lake

We haven’t had Jason Voorhees on our big screens since 2009. Sure, we had the short Sweet Revenge from Mike P. Nelson last year, but we all yearn for Jason and Co. on the big screen. Well, that might have to wait a bit too, but in the meantime, we have the official release date for the Crystal Lake series coming from Peacock. The show from showrunner Brad Caleb Kane will release on Thursday, October 15th, 2026.

A24 and Peacock are working together on the series and for fans that have been waiting 17 years for something more substantial than a short film, its a long time coming. Linda Cardellini stars as Pamela Voorhees, a mother who gave up a singing career to raise her special needs child, only to take a dark turn when she loses her son — Jason. Callum Vinson plays young Jason in Crystal Lake, which tells the origin story of the killer who has stalked Crystal Lake.

Here’s what Brad Caleb Kane had to say to Entertainment Weekly about the show.

“In many ways, it’s a psychological thriller. It’s a paranoid ’70s thriller. It has all of the DNA of a slasher without quite being a slasher. There are rivers of blood in the show. There are very, I think, ingenious kill sequences and deaths and murders, but it’s all done in service of character and theme and place and time.”

The show was originally created and showran by Bryan Fuller, who was set to write the series as well, before creative differences led to his departure. Brad Caleb Kane stepped in and so far the only things we’ve seen from the show are still images and a lucky few at Comic-Con got to see behind-the-scenes footage.

Who Else Is In Crystal Lake?

In addition to Cardellini and Vinson, they’re joined by William Catlett, Nick Cordileone (Warrior), Joy Suprano (Fleishman is in Trouble, Best Foot Forward), Danielle Kotch (Director’s Cut), and Phoenix Parnevik (Bel-Air, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter Is Dead).

Cordelieone will play Ralph, the town drunk and the person who warns passing people of the evil summer camp. Joy Suprano will play Rita, Kotch will play Claudette, and Parnevik as Barry. Barry is important because he’s Pamela’s first victim in the original film. His girlfriend, Claudette, is her second victim.

Crystal Lake is executive produced by A24, Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian and Stuart Manashil.
