Shudder’s Latest Original Is A Thrill

We just got our best look yet at The Cycle. Shudder’s latest mystery pairs Deborah Ann Woll with Jeffrey Donovan. The Cycle made quite a scene when it premiered at Fantastic Fest this year. Now, more folks are getting ready to see what the hubbub is about for themselves over on Shudder. Woll is tremendous in this role. Missing persons cases are inherently spooky, ang things go up to 11 in this new movie. Here’s what we know so far!

The Cycle Takes Hold In Official Trailer

Take a look at the official trailer for The Cycle right here! Director Jordan Downey is ready to chill his audience to the core with the latest Shudder Original. Kevin Stewart helped write this one and it’s a certified hoot. Deborah Ann Woll steps over to another career here, and the results are impressive.

The Cycle makes great use of her talents after thrilling us in so many different types of stories. In this case, a central mystery feels propulsive and never truly lets the audience stand on solid ground. Everyone in the cast deserves some love for how this one shook out! How Good Is This Film?

Fantastic Fest was filled with a bunch of really strong entries this year. But, The Cycle really stood out for what it was doing with Woll. That Hollywood Show’s Rachel Leishman got to see the movie and really came away thrilled with Downey’s work with The Cycle. She explained more.

“The thing about movies like The Cycle Is that you don’t want to know what happens as the film’s major twist before going in. If anything, you want to look up very little. Yes, as I was watching I figured out what was going to happen with the “villain” of the film quite quickly but that’s just me and how my brain works,” she argued! “I feel like for most people, the twist will be shocking because it doesn’t feel like the world that this film is set (which is a compliment to director and writer Jordan Downey’s ability to set up the world).”

What’s The Horror Movie About?

When the body of a man missing for thirty-six years is discovered at the scene of a horrific crime, it’s up to his estranged daughter to unravel his dark past.

The Cycle also stars Will Hochman, Jack Doolan, Carl W. Crudup, Jeb Berrier, Gretchen Corbett, David Myers Gregory. Jordan Downey directs and wrote the movie along with Kevin Stewart. The Cycle has a 111 minute runtime. Shudder is easy one-stop streaming for everything you could want from the world of horror.
