Buzzkill’s Brec Bassinger Was Thrilled To Join Us

With the new movie playing on Tubi, we spoke with Brec Bassinger, who plays Kendal. She’s the defacto leader of the Sigmas. During our conversation we talked about what drew her to the project. Along with how she prepared got into doing her own stunts for the slasher. She also shared how much she enjoyed playing alongside Agudong and Aliyah. What’s Up In Buzzkill?

“When a masked killer targets her sorority, party girl Nora must get drunk to unlock the memories that reveal the murderer.”

When it comes to Horror projects, Bassinger is no rookie. She starred in Final Destination Bloodlines recently. But, as the script for Buzzkill rolled across her computer, the actress was struck by a couple of factors.

“One of the things that really attracted me to this project, the idea of being on set with a bunch of women all day, who are my age,” Bassinger began. “And, we just can have so much fun.”

” This wasn’t the easiest of projects. It’s a lot of night shoots, it’s a lot of blood, it’s prosthetics, just a lot going on. Which, doesn’t make it the easiest days. But, Just having the girls, we just kept each other’s spirits up.”

Showing Support To Her Co-Stars

It’s clear that Aliyah’s Interlude and Siena Agudong left an imprint with their dedication on-set. Bassinger had nothing but kind things to say about her Sigma sisters after their time filiming Buzzkill together.

” I wish Aliyah was here because she’s just such a positive energy. And, sienna was the best number one you could ever dream of. She’s younger than me,” Bassinger clarified. “And just watching her work, I was like, ‘I want to be her when I grow up.’ Because she’s just that girl through and through. They’ll be lifelong friends for sure!”

” The first day I showed up to set, I didn’t know who was casted,” she revealed. “And I get a cast list and see Aliyah’s Interlude. I was like, ‘That’s a pop star! Who’s alias is a pop star?’ That’s very funny and quirky of them. We got into hair and makeup, and I see her headshot. It’s actually Aliyah’s Interlude!”

Bassinger smiled, “Aliyah is the most confident human being. It’s very inspiring the way she just walks in. It could be a 6 a.m. call time, she’s got high heels on and a mini skirt because she is that girl, and no one will make her not that girl!”
