Acclaimed musical group SANCHEZ, has recently released a their rendition of the MALO classic “Suavecito”. It has been reimagined with subtle musical updates while preserving what makes it special. The group is known for their signature blend of Latin rhythms that is synonymous with Southern California Latin culture.

With the recent release of their latest single “Suavecito”, I talked with Ed Sanchez and Manuel Garza about their music. In our conversation we talked about what made the song so special, that was originally made by MALO. We also talked about Chicano music, including what makes it special and why its so important to preserve it.
