[WARNING: Article contains some spoilers for the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special. Read at your own risk!]
It has been over 40 years since the original Star Wars Holiday Special was released, and if you have watched it you know why it hasn’t been touched in a long time. While slowing becoming a cult classic with some Star Wars fans, others have tried to forget about it all together. So, instead of putting the original special on Disney+ and risk people canceling their service and burning their TVs, they said lets make a new one. And you know what? I am glad they did! This LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special was not only good, but is something the whole family can enjoy.
My Thoughts
Overall I thought it was a great. It was kind of like a Star Wars Multi-verse as Rey traveled and interacted with characters throughout the different Star Wars timelines. As a Star Wars fan it was fun to see all the jokes throughout the show from Luke and his blue milk to who shot first Han Solo or Greedo. Now all the jokes didn’t hit homeruns, but that was OK, between the fun LEGO action and trying to catch all the little Easter eggs the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special was just good family fun, maybe even better than The Rise of Skywalker (Joking). OH YEAH! I forgot one of the best parts if that Chewbacca’s father left his Virtual Reality machine at his house.
