We are officially getting a 30th anniversary 4K UHD for the classic comedy, The Cable Guy. The jim Carrey and Matthew Broderick-led film from 1996 is heading to 4K UHD with a special edition Steelbook this October. If you’ve never seen The Cable Guy, here’s a synopsis.
Jim Carrey is Chip Douglas, cable installer. Raised on television sitcoms, he wants life to look just like My Three Sons. And when he meets single guy Steven Kovacs (Matthew Broderick), he sees his chance for some serious male bonding. But Chip’s idea of friendship – which includes physical assault, a game of ‘Porno Password’ and a medieval joust – may be hazardous to Steven’s health. In Chip’s own immortal words, “I can be your best friend…or your worst enemy.” Directed by Ben Stiller (Tropic Thunder, Zoolander), and co-starring Leslie Mann, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson.
The Cable Guy was written by Lou Holtz Jr. and directed by Ben Stiller.
The Cable Guy arrives on 4K UHD on October 6th, 2026.

Not only is The Cable Guy one of the best comedies from the 90s, but this release looks exquisite. For megafans of the movie, they can get the Steelbook edition that features some wonderful-looking artwork. In addition to that beautiful exterior, the special features package on the disc carries over a bunch of the previous special features and even has a new bonus in the 30th Anniversary Conversation with Ben Stiller and Matthew Broderick. It would have been perfect if they could have gotten Jim Carrey on board for that to talk about the film, but this is still fantastic.
