‘Ginger Snaps’ Influences Horror Past Its 25th Anniversary [Interview]

Ginger Snaps interview image.

Ginger Snaps is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a brand-new 4K UHD from Lionsgate and Vestron Video. To honor the occasion, we sat down with the director of the original film, John Fawcett, and the two stars, Emily Perkins and Katherine Isabelle. Check out the full interview below.

The interview and this release just highlight how special Ginger Snaps is as a movie to modern horror. It might not have been a huge runaway hit on immediate release, but the influence it has on modern high school horror movies to this day is palpable. The 4K UHD release from Vestron Video and Lionsgate also includes a new transfer of the film that was overseen and approved by John Fawcett.

He talks a bit about that in the interview, but seeing really is believing with this release. The colors pop off the screen, the landscapes look better, and it’s really the best the film has ever looked. If you’re interested in the other bonus features, here’s the full list.
