Tiny Fugitives is a rather bizarre upcoming movie. It’s an R-rated comedy movie from director Michael Lewen, who co-wrote the story with Jacob Kaplan. As you can tell by its R rating, it’s a very rude and raunchy comedy. That in of itself isn’t unusual. However, what makes this particular comedy movie unusual is that all of its main cast are child actors.
Tiny Fugitives stars Benjamin Pajak (The Lost Boys), Aaron Harris (Matlock), Isa Bernal Steiner, Jai Soundar, Alyssa Gervasi, Blake Anderson (Workaholics), and Jay Baruchel (How to Train Your Dragon); all of who are child actors, and are being as rude and as raunchy as any adult actor here. In fact, Johnny Knoxville is the only significant adult actor here, with him playing a “deranged, relentless, 50-year-old lifer counselor who will stop at nothing to thwart” what is essentially a “pack of unhinged twelve-year-olds”. This will certainly be a very strange movie to watch in theaters. Especially once you see the trailer in advance.

Said trailer even reveals that we’ll get to see this oddball raunchy comedy in theaters nationwide across the U.S. on September 18, 2026. Alas, tickets for that movie are not yet on sale. However, when they do go on sale, you will be able to purchase them from Fandango.

Synopsis:

Tiny Fugitives follows a reckless, fiercely determined group of twelve-year-olds who hatch a chaotic plot to escape reality and spend the rest of their lives at sleepaway camp. Standing between them and permanent freedom is Bob (Knoxville), the camp’s deranged, relentless, 50-year-old lifer counselor who will stop at nothing to thwart their plans.
Tiny Fugitives All Set to Gives Us Adult Version of Recess
Does anyone remember The Yard from 2011? It was a Canadian comedy TV series that was styled as a mocumentary of a schoolyard playground, starring a bunch of kids acting and talking as if they were mafia discussing the details of a drug deal or money laundering. You know, when they were just selling totally-not-Pokémon cards, contraband peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and illicit stink bombs. It was basically Recess from 1997, but with adults as the target audience despite the all-kid cast.
That is what Tiny Fugitives reminds me of. It’s basically The Yard, but as a feature-length movie and with similar levels of faux adultness coming from the kids. And yet, the key difference between them is that the kids in this movie are genuinely being rude and raunchy, rather than being what kids would think as being rude and raunchy. As rude and as raunchy as any adult actor in any adult comedy. The result is a subtly different tone for this movie. It has the potential to be absolutely hilarious, like Recess: School’s Out for adults. However, it also has the potential to cross some red lines, and turn it very unfunny if it’s handled wrongly. Well, we’ll just have to see which one is which on September 18 when this movie hits U.S. theaters.
