By virtually every metric, HBO’s live-action adaptation of The Last of Us video game franchise from Naughty Dog is a major success. In fact, in some ways, it’s even more successful than the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. Certainly, it’s gotten even higher levels of critical acclaim even just after a single 9-episode season. However, both of them still prove that video game movies can be wildly successful even in mainstream media.
In fact, The Last of Us is so successful that HBO has already greenlit a second season for it. Now when will we get to see it, you might ask? Well, you’re in luck! HBO has just revealed exactly when we’re going to see that upcoming second season of more Ellie and Joel trying to survive against fungus zombies…and other humans.
The Last of Us Season 2: Debut Details
Warner Bros. Discovery is proud to announce the exact debut date for the upcoming second season of HBO’s live-action drama The Last of Us. In fact, they even give us an exact time as well. The very first episode of that season will make its debut on SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. As you might expect, you can watch it only on HBO Max, just like the first season.
This announcement also comes with an official logline of The Last of Us season 2 to tease the story a bit. You can check out that loglone below:
