When you think about Tom DeLonge and San Diego, you’re likely thinking of the musician’s history with the iconic pop-punk pioneers Blink-182. However, the legendary vocalist and guitar player took the stage at Comic-Con International (SDCC 2026) without his bandmates or an instrument to shine the spotlight on a new entertainment endeavor. He appeared at the convention as the executive producer of Tubi’s all-new adult animated comedy Breaking Bear.
The series follows a dysfunctional family of bears who turn to a life of crime to save the forest they call home. While they descend deeper into the criminal underworld, they have to contend with frackers, mobsters, and psychotic wolves (in addition to their own family drama) as they do what it takes to restore their natural habitat to its former glory.
Breaking Bear stars Brendan Fraser (who is gearing up for the next highly-anticipated chapter of The Mummy), Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Josh Gad as the three bear siblings at the center of these shenanigans. The show is perfect for fans of topical, irreverent comedies such as Family Guy and South Park. On its surface, the series seems like mix of those shows with Disney and Pixar’s incredible film Hoppers, classic Yogi Bear cartoons, and, of course, AMC’s acclaimed drama Breaking Bad.

The Breaking Bear panel at SDCC 2026 took place on Thursday, July 23rd, the day before the first two episodes dropped on Tubi. Delonge joined cast members Chris Parnell and Chris Diamantopolous to pull back the curtain on the free streamer’s latest original animated comedy series. While sharing behind-the-scenes stories about the show’s development and the origins of the unapologetically outrageous humor, the trio also surprised the packed room with video messages from series regulars Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley (the latter of whom plays the Wolf Queen, guardian of the forest and one of the bears’ chief rivals).
To top off the festivities, Tubi announced an exclusive line of merchandise for the show. This includes deluxe plushies for Blair and Jer Bear, the characters voiced by Gellar and Fraser. If you’re at the convention, both stuffed bears are available at the UCC Booth (#821) all weekend. If not, you can purchase the plushies along with various other items, including shirts, tote bags, and mugs at the official Breaking Bear online store.
