“All of it has come to this,” might neatly sum up the entirety of incoming season 3 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.”
Back to War, Magic, and Impending Doom
Prime Video released the official trailer for the upcoming season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” and it’s already got our blood flowing. If fans were wondering if everyone would finally sit down, talk out their feelings, and get along after the absolute insanity that was the fall of Eregion, they’re about to get their answer. Five years later, Sauron’s armies have been tearing across the map, with not a whole lot to stand in his way.
The Dark Lord’s obsessed with amassing more power in his brand-new, ultra-ominous Mordor tower, Barad-dûr, which is where the legendary, iconic, and terrifying One Ring finally comes into play. Season 3 introduces his Ring-servants, the Nazgnagôl, who actually showed up in San Diego at the Fandom party. The season is stuffed full of family drama with the the Dwarves in Khazad-dûm, the kingdom of Númenor on the brink of civil (because why let Sauron have all the fun), and Gandalf doing everything in his power to stop the coming darkness. It’s a whole lot going on in the realm this season.
A Return to Middle-Earth
With showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay back at the helm, our favorite ensemble cast is about to embark on a desperate, race-against-time mission to stop complete and utter domination. “The Rings of Power” continues to bring to the small screen a deeply, detailed and rich look into Middle-Earth’s Second Age. Set thousands of years before J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” books, the show gives audiences a closer look at the rise and fall of kingdoms, struggles for power, among the beautiful visuals and stellar casting.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to see how all this unfolds. The first four episodes of Season 3 will premiere on Nov. 11, 2026. Episodes 5 and 6 will be available on November 18, with the final two episodes releasing on Nov. 25. All sixteen episodes of the first two seasons are available to stream exclusively on Prime Video.
