For many viewers, especially those in the United Kingdom, Shaun the Sheep is one of their most beloved childhood series. As well as they should, because as you can tell by the distinct claymation, this is one of the masterpieces of Aardman Animations and creator Nick Park (Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit, Early Man). All starring the very mischievous leader of his local sheep herd who first made his debut in the third Wallace & Gromit movie: A Close Shave. It resulted in the series becoming one of their most successful franchises, resulting in two feature-length animated films seeing debuts. And soon, we shall get a third in the form of Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, which is why distributor GKIDS is so eager to promote it. We even have some new promotional material for it today.
GKIDS and Aardman Animations is proud to announce a brand new poster to promote Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. Said poster calls back to classic horror movies, just Shaun the Sheep-flavored. On top of that, they even have a “Behind the Scenes” video to highlight the creation process behind that poster titled “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom | Crafting a Poster”. You can watch that video either on YouTube, or just look below for a synopsis of the movie plus the actual poster I’ve been talking about:
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom | Crafting a Poster and Synopsis

SHAUN THE SHEEP: THE BEAST OF MOSSY BOTTOM sees the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm looking forward to Halloween – until the clumsy Farmer trashes the Flock’s beloved pumpkin patch! When Shaun turns MAD SCIENTIST to fix the problem, things rapidly spiral out of control… With The Farmer missing and a wild beast roaming the woods of Mossingham, all the ingredients are in place for a monstrously fun family adventure.
From Aardman, the Academy Award®-winning animation studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, SHAUN THE SHEEP: THE BEAST OF MOSSY BOTTOM continues its 50-year legacy of hand-crafted claymation with instantly lovable characters and hysterical down-home charm.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom Gets New Promotional Poster Just Months Before Theatrical Debut
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of adults turn up their noses at Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom and anything from the Shaun the Sheep franchise. All because it’s labelled as a series for children. However, it’s so much more than just a show for kids. It’s genuinely funny, combining hilarious slapstick and sitcom tropes in a way that will tickle the funny bones of adults as much as children. It’s definitely a series that deserves much more attention than what it has now.
And honestly, that behind the scenes video was genuinely interesting, detailing the creation process behind that “Behind the Scenes” video. It even showcases just how the claymation puppets of Shaun the Sheep and everyone else works, revealing things like movable and bendable body parts, and parts that can be swapped out for other parts. It certainly shows off just how much work the animators do to make claymation work.
Fortunately, we don’t have long to wait to see the results of their work. Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom will head to U.S. theaters on September 18, 2026. As of this writing, that’s only two months away, so it won’t be a long wait at all. You might even have time to watch the first season of Shaun the Sheep right now for free on Tubi.
