Pan’s Labyrinth’s 20th Anniversary Is About To Go Big At San Diego Comic-Con 2026

A major argument can be made that out of Guillermo del Toro’s entire filmography, the picture that put the man on the map wasn’t Mimic, nor Hellboy, but the 2006 classic Pan’s Labyrinth. A bittersweet fantasy that’s still a cause for celebration, the maestro himself and distributor Cineverse are about to bring this legendary tale to San Diego. With a Comic-Con 2026 celebration that sounds ready to pull out all the stops, fans may find themselves smiling, and crying, a bit harder.

SDCC 2026 Will See Pan’s Labyrinth Honored At A Panel And Party

In honor of its 20th anniversary re-release, with a new 4K 3D version heading to theaters, Cineverse and Fathom Entertainment have a handful of events debuting to reward fans of this grown-up fairy tale. Most of the action will be taking place on Friday, July 24th – through both a panel and party that pay tribute to all things Pan’s Labyrinth.

From 5:15 to 6:15 PM, Guillermo del Toro will be on hand to speak at Cineverse: Return of a Masterpiece – The 20th Anniversary of Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth. Premiering footage from the new 3D variant of his picture, the Frankenstein director will be reuniting with actors Doug Jones and Ivana Baquero, as they will also engage in “discussions about the film’s legacy.”

After that panel lets out, Pan’s Labyrinth fans can head over to club venue PARQ for a party that continues to honor this horror-fantasy saga. Here are some further details on what to expect, per the official press release announcing this itinerary:

Transforming into the mystical realm of Pan’s Labrinth, fans can celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film at PARQ with a happy hour, special screening of the film and an exclusive live DJ set from producer and DJ Flying Lotus.

Now is as good a time as any to remind you all to imbibe responsibly, lest you think Doug Jones really is the Pale Man. Also, if you want to achieve some truly special greatness, you’ll need your wits about you for San Diego Comic-Con 2026. For you see, there’s a quest that awaits those bold and daring to seek it out.

A Pan’s Labyrinth (Fetch) Quest Awaits You…

If you’re a real big fan of Pan’s Labyrinth, there’s a way you can prove it. Thanks to the help of brand partners Toynami and Insight Editions, you can go on the official fetch quest celebrating the 20th anniversary. Just stop by either of those booths on the SDCC 2026 floor, and pick up a ticket to enter this competitive chase.

Your prize for completing this errand will be a limited Pan’s Labyrinth poster, with the first 50 people to do so scoring a “private signing experience with Guillermo del Toro.” Don’t worry if you’re not one of those lucky few, as a public signing event with del Toro, Doug Jones, and Ivana Baquero will take place at the Sails Pavilion, at 10 AM on Saturday 7/25.
