The V/H/S series has been a mainstay on Shudder for the Halloween season for a while now. They’re bringing the found footage anthology madness back with the ninth installment, V/H/S/MIXTAPE. The new anthology brings in the themes of music and sound as the source of terror.
V/H/S/MIXTAPE Hits Shudder This October
United by a theme that explores the power of music, rhythm, and audio to haunt, possess, and destroy, the film blends cosmic horror, psychological suspense, outrageous splatter, and groundbreaking practical effects into one unforgettable mixtape of nightmares. V/H/S/MIXTAPE will be streaming on Shudder on October 9, 2026.
The new film features segments from the legendary filmmaker Ernest Dickerson, RZA, David Moreau, and Renee Zhan. They’re also including musical interlude segments from Flying Lotus and a brand-new music video from Tobias Forge of Ghost. Rounding the entire package out, there’s a special featured appearance by the Scumdogs of the Universe, GWAR.
Producers for the ninth installment of V/H/S include Josh Goldbloom, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, Michael Schreiber, Brad Miska, and executive producers Ben Ross and Rami Yassin.

The upcoming V/H/S/MIXTAPE is the ninth film in the franchise and releases on Shudder on October 9th, 2026. It follows up on the excellent V/H/S/Halloween that had some of the best segments that the series has ever seen. The series launched in 2012 with V/H/S, followed by 2013’s V/H/S/2, 2014’s V/H/S: Viral, 2021’s V/H/S/94, 2022’s V/H/S/99, 2023’s V/H/S/85, 2024’s V/H/S/Beyond, and 2025’s V/H/S/Halloween.
