Lucas and Moore are back after scoring a big hit with Bad Moms. The pair also previously penned The Hangover and 2009. That film has become an influential piece of millennial comedy. What’s The Comedy About?

So, are comedies really back? It sure seems so when when you look at the landscape and discover movies like Spa Weekend getting releases. The Naked Gun, Scary Movie, and other entrants all have their role to play over the course of the recent years. There’s no denying that exhibitors are trying all sorts of genres to get people back into theatrical releases.
And, that kind of variety leads to better turnout. A healthy theatrical ecosystem has robust, Horror, Romance, Action, Blockbuster, and Drama offerings. That would probably look something like this summer’s release slate. Spa Weekend slots nicely in there. These four funny women clearly know what they’re doing. And, audiences looking for a good laugh know where to find it later this summer.
