In what many thought would be the same Box Office rankings as last week, The Beekeeper overtook Mean Girls in the top spot.
A Buzz At The Box Office
As mentioned earlier, Argylle is the big release this coming week. It has minimal competition for the male demographic. There will be no NFL games as preparations are made for the Superbowl. Matthew Vaughn also has a good amount of box office success with Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, and the Kingsmen series. That being said, the buzz on this movie seems low with little to no marketing on social media promoting the film’s release. It’s projected to make $20-$30 Million next weekend, and it’ll likely be on the lower end closer to $20 Million. Word of mouth from reviews will likely influence whether people see it or not. There’s also the factor that it’s an Apple Films release, so those who are patient enough can view it at home on Apple TV.
