The casting news for The Fantastic Four from Marvel Studios has been flying lately. We got news that all four members had been found and now according to Deadline, there’s a version of the Silver Surfer in the film. For those ready with pitchforks, this is Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer. They’re reporting that Julia Garner is set to play the iconic comic book character in the film. Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Benn Grimm (The Thing).
Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is directing Fantastic Four from a script by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Production is set for this Summer and has a release date of July 25th, 2025. There are no plot details outside of rumors right now, but the rumors are flying that this’ll be a period piece set in the 1960s.
Garner saw a meteoric rise in popularity from the series Ozark. She also was nominated for an Emmy award on the limited series Inventing Anna. Her next film project is the Blumhouse and Universal horror flick Wolfman.
