‘Mutiny’ Promotes Upcoming Movie With 30-Foot Tall Jason Statham Sailing Down The Thames

Mutiny looks like your typical action movie. Features the directing work of Jean-François Richet, who has directed some high-intensity action movies like the 2005 remake of Assault on Precinct 13, The Emperor of Paris, and Plane: check. Features a rugged and muscly male protagonist in the form of Jason Statham (The Transporter, The Meg, The Beekeeper): check. A plot featuring that action hero going up against an army of bad guys on a quest for vengeance: check. Now all this movie needs is a big name promotion to hype it up for its eventual theatrical debut. Fortunately, as you can tell by this title, we’re getting that news right now.

Lionsgate is proud to promote the upcoming theatrical debut of Mutiny with a rather whimsical view of Jason Statham sailing down the Thames. The catch is that he’s now 30 feet tall. What do I mean by this, you might ask? Well, this 30-foot tall action hero appears to be a gargantuan inflatable version of the British actor holding a similarly sized harpoon gun while sitting on a cargo container scaled down to “tiny” size. With all of the above sitting on a barge that’s just floating down the Thames. All just to promote this rather bloody and brutal action movie’s U.S. theatrical debut on August 21, 2026.

Jason Statham Float Gives Us Whimsical Promo for Mutiny

You have to admit: it’s hard to not at least chuckle at the sight of a building-sized Jason Statham balloon just floating down the river Thames on a barge. The life-sized cargo container he’s sitting on only adds to the whimsy. Just imagine an action movie in which the hero is supersized into a gigantic version of himself? Like Honey, I Shrunk the Kids but in reverse and as an action movie? With the hero having to desperately hide their now gigantic form, and then resorting to fighting tiny bad guys with kung fu when hiding is no longer an option? Eh, who knows. Maybe one day, someone will make a movie based on this idea.

Either way, it’s a nice bit of fun before we get to see the actual Mutiny in theaters in a few weeks. This particular action movie is much more serious than the promotion would have you believe though, so expect a very bloody and brutal drama to take place while Jason Statham is going around shooting, stabbing, and otherwise ripping his way through the bad guys. All while apparently trying to save illegal immigrants from being brutalized by their captors / transporters? If that’s the case, it’s a nice bit of humanity here for a big budget action movie to have, especially in this kind of political climate where illegal immigrants are being demonized, so cheers to them.
