It’s almost hard to believe that it has been ten years since Sing Street hit theaters and captivated audiences with its music and whimsical story about youth and love. But time passes, as it does, and now the film will be available on a new medium for the first time ever. Fans will be able to see and experience even more of this film thanks to these new releases hitting shelves in August.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary and available on 4K for the first time, Sing Street from filmmaker John Carney (Power Ballad, Once) remains as charming and relevant as ever as a coming-of-age tale about escape, imagination, and young love. It also remains as relevant as ever, continuing to bring in new audiences.
Along with Blu-ray and 4K versions, the film is also available on VHS, adding even more whimsy to this special film. Even if you do not have a VHS player, why not purchase it for the nostalgia?
About Sing Street
Set in 1980s Dublin, this semi-autobiographical story is told through the eyes of 14-year-old Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo), who seeks refuge from family tension as he struggles to fit in at a tough public school. Enter über-cool aspiring model Raphina (Lucy Boynton). Completely smitten, Conor aims to win her heart by inviting her to star in his band’s music video — with one small problem: there is no band. Forming a band with some new lads, the group pours themselves into writing songs and shooting videos, along the way discovering the power of music to uplift, empower, and create community.
