1923 star Brandon Sklenar is back in the saddle, and The Rescue trailer makes one thing perfectly clear: you don’t mess with a cowboy’s daughter. Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for The Rescue, a new modern-day Western thriller. Sklenar stars as a former rodeo cowboy who is forced to take matters into his own hands after his daughter is kidnapped for ransom. With her devoted dog by his side, he sets out to bring her home, and judging by the first trailer, he isn’t going to let much stand in his way.
The film also features a cast that should look familiar to Western fans, including Josh Lucas, Hassie Harrison, Nick Searcy, Tim Blake Nelson, and Josh Duhamel. About The Rescue
A former rodeo cowboy (Brandon Sklenar) takes matters into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped for ransom. With her devoted dog by his side, he sets out to bring her home and will stop at nothing to find her.
There is plenty of Western experience both in front of and behind the camera on The Rescue. Sklenar is best known to Western fans for playing Spencer Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel 1923. While Hassie Harrison appeared as Laramie on Yellowstone, and Josh Lucas portrayed a younger version of John Dutton.
Behind the camera is Potsy Ponciroli, who previously directed the acclaimed 2021 Western Old Henry. That film starred Tim Blake Nelson, who reunites with Ponciroli for The Rescue. The screenplay comes from John Fusco, who is no stranger to the Western either, with credits including films such as Young Guns, Hidalgo, and The Highwaymen.
