Disney Reunites with Lin-Manuel Miranda
Moana’s live-action remake is approaching very quickly next month! To celebrate the occasion, we’ve got two new videos showcasing a surprising song for the movie soundtrack. Lin-Manuel Miranda returns to Disney with “Along the Way,” an original song just for this live action adaptation. You can check out the video for yourself down below.
Moana’s New Original Song
Lin-Manuel Miranda hits the high seas with “Along the Way.” The new original song from the Moana soundtrack is sure to delight Disney die-hards. Later this year, fans of the first movie will get their chance to see a modern favorite in a way they’ve never seen before. Moana recruits Dwayne Johnson and Catherine Laga’aia for this new journey on the open ocean.
In the new song, animated Moana star Auli’i Cravalho gets in on the fun with her castmates. (She’s actually in the new movie too, but Laga’aia plays Moana this time around.) The mood in the booth is light and buoyant. Everyone is really happy to be back in the world of Moana. It’s been interesting to see excitement mount for this live-action remake. And, a new song from the Hamilton creator probably doesn’t hurt. Check out “Along the Way” right here!
Something about these sweeping Disney songs just feels right with the beloved hitmaker in-tow. Pairing his musical stylings actually works seemlessly with Johnson’s delivery on the song. Look out parents, it might be a fall filled with the new soundtrack in the car.
