The Top 5 Best And Scariest Horror Movie Villains [Fright-A-Thon]

This is it, the day has come, and the spirits are ready to break through to the material world. Monsters, ghouls, ghosts, vampires, serial killers, zombies, supernatural forces of all kinds, and those little kids who take the entire bowl of candy when it clearly has a note on it that says ‘take one’ are here to fill the night with fright. We’ve gone through 61 days of Halloween content in the third edition of Fright-A-Thon. Normally, horror movies get worse as they go on in a series, but this time it feels like Fright-A-Thon might be like A Nightmare On Elm Street. The first might be great, but A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors is a worthy challenger for top dog. That’s not up to me though.

Today, we’ll be going over the Top 5 Horror Movie Villains, because, surprisingly, we haven’t done that yet. So without further ado, let’s get to the list.

5. Norman Bates – Psycho Series

Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers have never duked it out and they’d likely be friends with how much they like brutalizing teenagers. Voorhees’s specialty is teens invading his lake area and somehow, people in Manhattan. We haven’t seen ol’ Jason on our screens in quite a long time, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to horror movie villains. It’s also telling that he’s never spoken a single word (through his own body, speaking through his mother in Friday the 13th doesn’t count) on screen. That kind of fear and villainy only comes from sheer brute force and violence.

2. Freddy Krueger – A Nightmare On Elm Street Series

This guy is what happens when a horrible story from real-life meets another horrifying memory of the writer’s youth. Freddy Krueger resides where we’re most vulnerable, our own dreams. Not only does he live in your dreams/nightmares, but he’s also a serial child murderer. So heaping on top of that, he cracks jokes and targets you where you’re most scared. It all adds up to one of the most frightening and entertaining villains in horror movie history.

1. Michael Myers – Halloween Series

Michael Myers is the ultimate evil. He can’t be stopped (whether that’s by Doctor Loomis’s decree or producer Moustapha Akkad’s), he keeps coming back, and he’s out for blood. Through 13 entries in the Halloween series, Michael has either the first or second-highest body count, depending on who you ask. We haven’t had Michael in space yet, but here on Earth, there is no one eviler, more deranged, more violent, and quite frankly, more terrifying than he is.
