“Splash City” is a coming of age drama exploring brotherhood, survival, and the life changing choices that define who we become. Using San Francisco as the backdrop, we see an authentic representation of some of the serious struggles that people experience in The City. Its at times an unconformable watch as it features moments that for some may hit close to home.

Learning About The The Tone

With the release of “Splash City”, I spoke with writer and producer David Mansanalez and director Alex Ferrufino. In our conversation we talked about the tone of the film. Everything from the kind of storytelling Mansanalez likes to write, so how Ferrufino made sure that the city of San Francisco became its own character in the film. About “Splash City”

Splash City follows two brothers, Juju and Slim, whose lives diverge as they struggle to survive the streets. Slim sees basketball as his path to a brighter future. While Juju is drawn into the dangerous world of smash and grab robberies. As their choices pull them in opposite directions, the film explores family, loyalty, ambition. As well as the decisions that can change the course of a lifetime.
