The Cast of Fall 2: Deadpoint Shares What They Won’t Do to Face Their Fears

Fall 2: Deadpoint brings Shiloh Hunter’s (Virginia Gardner) sister, Jax (Harriet Slater) into the fold. When Jax decides to do her sister’s next climb as a way of honoring her, she’s confronted with her own fear of heights in the process. And if you are afraid of heights, you might not want to do what Jax and Luce (Arsema Thomas) do. Even if your guide is Tom Brittney.

As part of the prep for the film’s release, I was invited to attend a very special press day for Fall 2: Deadpoint with Brittney, Thomas, and Slater. On the day, press was invited to complete a ropes course as well as interview the stars of the sequel film. But as someone afraid of heights, it did lead to a lot of facing my own fears. As many other interviewers asked the cast about what their fears are, I thought to take it a step further and ask them about what they wouldn’t do for a film role.

As an example, I offered up the time a press event was going to offer press the chance to swim with sharks. My greatest fear in this world is tied to sharks and I quickly said “no thank you.” But as actors, there are a lot of things you have to put to the side in order to get the job done and Brittney, Slater, and Thomas all shared what they wouldn’t be willing to do.

“Probably swimming with sharks, to be fair,” Slater said in response. “I think if they’d have suggested that for this, I may have said no.” But Thomas offered up a good point. “I would be like it’s like this, that would be the safest time to do it if you’re gonna do it,” they said. When I said it all depended on the “if” you’re going to do it, Brittney said “it depends on the budget of the film. If it’s a low budget indie swimming with sharks, maybe not, you know, if it’s Spielberg…”
