“The Incomer” is as Sundance Award-winning feature film from Sumerian Pictures written and directed by Lewis Paxton. The film follows a pair of siblings living on a remote Scottish island that live off the land, including eating the local birds. They are very protective of their space, usually warding off any incomers. But things chance when a strange and awkward council worker shows up as a representative of the local government. The film is still playing in select theaters.
Playing Siblings On A Remote Island
With the release of “The Incomer”, I spoke with actors Gayle Rankin and Grant O’Rourke. They play Isla and Sandy, the two siblings and the focus of the film. In our conversation, we talked about how they developed their personalities considering they had lived on their own for so long, with only each other for company. They share with me their thoughts on some of the themes including the search for community and loneliness that is further amplified with the arrival of Daniel, played by Domhnall Gleeson. Its a great conversation that you can check out down below!
