Clash of The Thundermans signal a new era for Jack Griffo

The latest entry in The Thundermans franchise has taken flight on Paramount+. And That Hollywood Show sat down with Max Thunderman himself to unpack all the wildest bits of this movie. Jack Griffo has been a part of this team since the beginning. It was interesting to hear him reflect on his journey with Kira Kosarin. Their dynamic on-screen really radiates a fondness that longtime viewers will notice in Clash of The Thundermans. Just like their characters, the duo balances producing duties now. And, offer different perspectives to help the larger show be successful. This is a charming man, and you’ll love everything he has to say about playing a member of this colorful family for so long. Check it out down below!

Max finds a new path for himself

Longtime Thundermans viewers know that Max hasn’t had the most streamlined road in being a hero. Dalliances with being a bad guy, and generally living in Phoebe’s shadow as a team-member can be tough. But, Clash of The Thundermans leaves him in the most interesting spot for the future. We had to ask Griffo about that decision and how it intersects with what’s to come in this franchise.

“When you’re around someone your whole life, you help each other, but you can also hold each other back. I think sometimes you have to figure things out on your own and you gotta do your own thing,” Griffo explained. “Where Max ends up in this movie is sort of reminiscent of where he started, with being the black sheep of the family. Kind of being set apart and wanting or had evil aspirations. And obviously, he’s not evil. But now, but there is a separation there. ‘Hey I need to go my own way.’

“Obviously what I’ve been doing, it’s not working, i’m not living up to my potential,” he said of Max. “I think it’s a really good message for people. Some people are really afraid of reinventing themselves. And I think as people, and especially as artists, like that’s what we have to do. There’s no shame in in in scrapping everything, and starting over, building from the ground up. That’s what we do as humans, we’re builders.”

Yeah, it’s up there in years but it’s it’s such a gift man! I’m just so grateful. I think it’s in such an anomaly to be part of a show that is still getting to to do their thing,” Griffo reflected. “Now that we’ve done Thundermans Return, and we’ve done a whole season. And, now we’ve done another movie! So this whole new chapter has felt really really right.

“Kira [Kosarin] and I get to be executive producers, and sort of be involved,” he added. “To feel like our opinion is valued! We’ve always felt like, ‘Who knows Max and Phoebe better than us?’ We’ve done three projects in this new era, and we’ve learned a lot, and we have really kind of wrapped it up in a nice bow. And said to our powers that be, ‘Hey, we’ve done this, and we feel like we’ve done a good job. Here’s this whole new opportunity to kind of jump off into the next chapter.’ If if that ends up happening.”
