Marvel Has Found Its ‘X-Men’ At D23 With New Cast

Marvel Studios announced PART of the cast for their upcoming X-Men film coming to theaters on May 5th, 2028. At D23, they announced the new cast members during the Marvel section of their Showcase. The cast came on stage after Sadie Sink, who has already been confirmed as Jean Grey in the film. She was joined by Christopher Abbott, Kit Connor, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarette, Adam Driver, and Maya Boyd.

Christopher Abbott will be playing Charles Xavier/Professor X, Kit Connor is playing Cyclops, Samara Weaving is Emma Frost, Adam Driver is Mister Sinister, Maya Boyd is Storm, and Inde Navarette is Rogue. As for the other members of the X-Men, we’ll have to wait and see who gets cast in those roles. We didn’t get a reveal for Magneto, Wolverine, or some other key members of the stories.

The X-Men are among the most important and storied members of the Marvel Studios stable of characters. Their storylines are rich and deep with social commentary. The battle between mutants and humans is at the center of the whole thing. This news just confirms that Marvel means business with the new film.

This is also the youngest that we’ve seen the X-Men in any live-action film or show. They normally are aged up a bit and in the midst of their primes as mutants. This time around it looks like audiences are going to be able to grow alongside these performers with the characters.

X-Men Is Just Another Piece Of The Marvel Puzzle

Why Is 'X-Men: The Animated Series' So Important To So Many?

X-Men is directed by Jake Schreier, who directed the excellent Thunderbolts* for Marvel Studios. Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo are working on the script alongside him. As for the older cast of X-Men,we might see their last stand in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen’s Xavier and Magneto are in the film, but we don’t yet know their role in the grand scheme of things.

Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18th, 2026 and Avengers: Secret Wars releases in theaters on December 18th, 2027.

We’ll keep you updated on all things X-Men as we get news.
