Fresh off its explosive reception at San Diego Comic-Con, A24 has released the new trailer for ONSLAUGHT. Director Adam Wingard (You’re Next & Godzilla vs Kong) and writer Simon Barrett team up once again to bring audiences an action-packed story of a combat veteran mother tasked with digging deep into her literal and figurative arsenal to protect her loved ones. Onslaught, while not a “direct sequel” to cult classic The Guest, according to Wingard, the film is part of that same universe.
“I look at this as a cap in the trilogy between The Guest and You’re Next. It’s not like a direct sequel, in the sense that it’s a continuation of those characters, but it takes place in the same town as The Guest. The idea is that the secret programs we’re seeing going on here are other little aspects of the same thing David’s character came from in The Guest.”
The film features a dynamic cast led by Adria Arjona and supporting roles from Dan Stevens, Eric Wareheim, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn, Alex Pereira, Drew Starkey, and Rebecca Hall. The film will be released nationwide on September 4, 2026
