The doors to Hogwarts are opening once again. HBO has released the official second teaser for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, offering another look at the ambitious television adaptation before it premieres this Christmas.
The eight-episode first season stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The new generation of Hogwarts students will learn magic under a faculty that includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.
HBO’s adaptation returns to the beginning of Harry’s story. After growing up believing he is an ordinary boy, Harry receives an unexpected letter inviting him to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, he discovers a hidden world of magic and friendship, but also secrets connected to the wizard who destroyed his family.
