Disney+ gets new series
More Ella Enchanted is coming from Disney+. The Anne Hathaway celebration tour rolls on with a new show on the popular streamer. Don’t expect the exact same story though.
Ella Enchanted TV show on the way
Everything old is new again as Ella Enchanted is getting a TV series over at Disney+. Miramax and Paramount TV Studios are teaming-up on a new show. Anne Hathaway is aboard as a producer for Ella Enchanted. Deadline reports that Beth Schwartz is aboard as showrunner. We’re getting the story as told by the book with a 16-year-old Ella.
It’s been a monster run as of late for Hathaway. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is still doing numbers in the theater. She also appeared during Disney’s Upfronts recently too. It’s clear the company is still on great terms with the star.
“Like so many of you, I was introduced to Disney as a child, learning how to dream and tell stories,” Hathaway said last week. “Playing Mia in Princess Diaries became this magical portal that opened up my whole life and now with the Devil Wears Prada franchise; these two films that have shaped my career the most are at the same wonderful home, and I am so honored to be a part of the family.”
