Hasbro And Target’s Summer Geek Out Is About To Please Fans Of Star Wars, And Other Iconic Brands

Harrison Ford smiles as he stands with a medal around his neck in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope.

Let’s debunk a potential myth right up front: toy sales aren’t just for the winter season. Sure, the holidays are a huge period where everyone is shopping for perfect collectibles. But is there ever a bad time to pick up something special from the latest raft of Star Wars franchise toys? The answer is no, and what I’m about to show you from Hasbro and Target’s Summer Geek Out collection proves my point through pieces of beautiful, pre-order ready nostalgia.

The Force Is With A Brand New Collection Of Vintage Star Wars Throwbacks

If you’re a fan of Netflix’s The Toys That Made Us, or that galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars Retro Collection is just the thing. Set for release at some point in Summer 2026, this Target exclusive is reminiscent of the original collection of Kenner toys that began the marketing machine behind the sleeper hit that became an iconic franchise.

Priced at $64.99, this Retro Collection comes with figures of Garindan, R4-M9, Captain Antilles, Princess Leia Organa (Yavin), Wedge Antilles, and CZ-3. If you’re bummed out by the fallout that is the fan reaction to The Mandalorian and Grogu’s theatrical release, you may want to preorder this lot, and start building your playset area.

Hasbro’s Transformers Studio Series MTMTE Collection Continues To Honor A Very Special Anniversary

Hasbro’s rich history with the Transformers legacy also features prominently during Target’s Summer Geek out – and with a rather timely collection on display. As the 40th anniversary of Transformers: The Movie continues to take center stage, 2026’s rollout of the Transformers Studio Series’ MTMTE Collection has brought to life some of the heroes and villains from that legendary masterpiece of animated trauma.

As you’ll see above, a trio pack of Insecticions Bombshell, Shrapnel, and Kickback is the big purchase of this segment. But leave some room for these two individual figures that are also heading to a Target cart near you:

These happenings would appear to culminate in September’s Transformers: The Movie – The Apology Tour screenings through Fathom Events. Now Target has emerged as an important stop on that very “tour,” as the MTMTE Collection now adds Prowl ($27.99) and Starscream ($42.99), as well as that trio of Insecticons ($79.99) to its ranks. Looks like your diorama of “Optimus Prime’s Last Supper” is about to become a little more complete.

G.I. Joe And X-Men Action Figures Round Out This Target/Hasbro Collab

Our round-up of Target’s Summer Geek Out pre-order bonanza ends with two of the most notable brands in collecting: G.I. Joe and the world of Marvel Comics. For fans of the real American hero, the G.I. Joe Classified series’ double-pack of Ninja Force Scarlett and T’Jbang – which includes “15 character-inspired accessory pieces” – is calling to your wallet. More specifically, this pair of action figures are sitting at the asking price of $59.99, with a release date of July 19th.

Last, but not least, while the Marvel Legends Series’ depiction of Onslaught will be releasing in Fall 2026, that doesn’t prevent it from being a part of Target’s Summer Geek Out. Pre-orders for this piece are set at $39.99, for a figure that, “stands a towering 8 inches and is fully articulated with premium design and poseable head, arms, and legs.”

It’s an action figure that asks the question, “When, if ever, will Professor X ever decide to be more careful with his mind powers?” Especially when the result is this:

These Target Exclusives are all up for pre-order, so don’t wait too long to jump in and secure them for yourself. And you totally should, because who doesn’t deserve a treat to celebrate the impending official start of the summer season? Which is exactly why you should also keep your eyes onTHS’ Collectibles archive – as there’s bound to be more excitement in that space as we wander further into the year.
