James Bond fans are riding high, as 007 First Light’s impressive debut continues to roll along. Summer Games Fest 2026’s bounty of excitement has fed into that hype, along with the promise of a bright future beyond the horizon. Yes friends, it’s time for the obligatory Year One Roadmap!
For those of you who were wondering if we’d ever see Lenny Kravitz’s Pirate King Bawma again, prepare to pour yourself a martini of excitement! But you may want to hold off on pouring, at least until after seeing all of the other treats in the works.

IO Interactive’s Road Map For 007 First Light Year One Has A Lot In Store
As of the most recent update from IO Interactive, First Light’s first week sold 2.7 million copies. With the internal leaderboard continuing to raise the bar for a potential sequel, Year One’s roadmap of additional updates look poised to keep players at their controls. Also, if you’re a Nintendo Switch 2 player that’s waiting for their turn to experience Patrick Gibson’s 00-origin story, that particular port is still on the way.
Meanwhile, the handy graphic above shows the rest of 007 First Light’s Year One Roadmap at a glance. The least surprising note in this lot has to be the addition of TacSim content, returning players to the domain of Gemma Chan’s Dr. Selina Tan. I say that, because eagle eyed gamers probably notice the tease for the “Valhalla Protocol” experience that pops up from time to time in the main menu.
On the other end of the spectrum, the most mysterious treat for the near future is the “James Bond Day Reward.” Whatever this ends up turning out to be, I think I can safely say we’ll be getting access to that on October 5th. However, it’s the second tease from IO Interactive that really has me thinking – as we now know that James Bond’s first 00-mission will be in service of a newly won ally.

Lenny Kravitz’s Bawma Will Return, And I’m So Glad To Hear It
When we last saw 007 First Light’s pirate king, Bond and his mentor John Greenway (Lennie James) almost became nourishment for the man’s alligators. However, a last minute promise of vital intel saw Bawma space their lives – while aiding his new friends’ own quest.
The results clearly left the right impression, because it appears that Bond’s first mission with his 00-designation returns him back to Mauritania. For more details, check out the teaser included below:
There’s a lot that one could speculate from this shadowy tease; and I think it’s worth a longer discussion. But the short, short version of my current thoughts is Pirate King Bawma could very well be the key to the potential trilogy that IO Interactive has in mind. With 007 First Light’s ending cliffhanger leaving some questions that need answers ASAP, the vague details shown seem to point towards some very valuable information that MI6 really wants to get its hands on.
For now, just knowing that Lenny Kravitz is present for more 007 First Light adventure is enough of a tease to keep watching for updates. Distractions like vehicular simulations, a Game+ mode, and even a new Q Gadget that seems to make the previously issued Q Lens obsolete all add some flavor to help make the wait a bit less painful. I know not all of life’s problems are solved through an Aston Martin Valhalla – but it never hurts to try.
007 First Light is now available on PC, as well as current gen Playstation and Xbox consoles. For all updates on the latest and greatest in pop culture, don’t forget to debrief over at the THS Gaming archives.
