The tour started with the first-ever trailer launch across the Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens in Tokyo on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Street Fighter releases in theaters on October 16th, 2026.

Helmed by director Kitao Sakurai, Street Fighter is set to bring the battle from the arcade to the big screen with Hadoukens, roundhouses, and all your favorite characters. It has a story from Dalan Musson and Gary Dauberman and was written by Kitao Sakurai and T.J. Fixman.

A Great Time For Fighting Game Movies
Between the release of Mortal Kombat II and Street Fighter, it looks like 2026 is the year of the fighting game movie. The two films capture what it looks like fans of the series’ want the most, which is something to be proud of on the big screen. Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat II both had some digs at one another earlier in the year, but for now, it seems like all is well between the two of them. For audiences, its a best-of-both-worlds situation where we have two great movies coming out in one year.
We’ll have to see just how good Street Fighter is when it releases in theaters on October 16th, 2026.
