‘Kagurabachi’ To Stream Exclusively On Crunchyroll

Kagurabachi is one of the most critically acclaimed and popular manga series on Shonen Jump for many, many good reasons. This action-packed dark urban fantasy manga from creator Takeru Hokazono has been praised for its highly detailed worldbuilding and engaging characterization combined with stylish action sequences and copious amounts of graphic violence. Those qualities make a manga that would otherwise be a bit average plot-wise into one of the best stories you will read on Shonen Jump. It’s certainly why there is going to be an anime adaptation from studio Cypic (Apocalypse Hotel, The Summer Hikaru Died, The World is Dancing), and it’s also why Crunchyroll is so interested in this anime. Interested enough that we’re getting this story for today.

Crunchyroll is proud to announce that they will be exclusively streaming the anime adaptation of Kagurabachi when it makes its debut. When will that be, you might ask? Well, this upcoming anime adaptation will make that debut sometime in April 2027, and will stream worldwide only on Crunchyroll save for Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea. Mayhaps not-so-coincidentally, this announcement also comes just before this anime will have its “Kagurabachi Anime World Tour Part 1” at Anime Expo 2026, where they will host early screenings of episodes from the anime. You can find out more details about that world tour directly from their official website.

KAGURABACHI|Official Character Trailer: Shiba Togo – Coming April 2027!

Oh, and Crunchyroll is also announcing that Katsuyuki Konishi will join the Japanese voice cast for Kagurabachi as the voice of Togo Shiba. Konishi will join the Japanese voice cast that currently consists of Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira and Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira. That announcement also comes with a brand new official character trailer showing off his voice, as well as a brand new teaser trailer showing off the animation. You can watch both either on YouTube or YouTube, or just look below:

Kagurabachi Finally Getting Anime Adaptation Soon-ish

Rejoice, Shonen Jump fans! At long last, we shall finally see Kagurabachi in anime form! And from the looks of that teaser trailer, it’s going to look as good as it is in the original manga. Heck, even better since Cypic looks like they’re going to pour their hearts, souls, and budget into the animation. The sight of Chihiro pulling Enten out of its sheathe, water bubbling out realistically, and slicing apart yakuza thugs in a stylish way reminiscent of Tokyo Ghoul looks like it will fulfill all the dreams of the manga fans.

At least, when we finally get to see it. Alas, it will take a while before we get to watch Kagurabachi. April 2027 is a very long ways off, after all. As of this writing, it’s nearly a year away, so you have plenty of time to re-read the chapters of the manga on Shonen Jump on Viz Media in preparation for its eventual anime debut. You will need a paid subscription to read all the chapters in the vault though. Only the first three chapters and the most recent three chapters are free to read. Fortunately, the subscription is only $3.99 USD per month and it’s available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, and India. It won’t be a big hit to your wallet if you live in these countries, hopefully.

What do you all think? Are you hyped for the eventual streaming debut of Kagurabachi? Do you plan on seeing early screenings of that anime at Anime Expo 2026? Tell us your sharpened thoughts in the comments section below.
