Midsummer Scream 2027 Heads To Anaheim And Season’s Screamings Returns

Midsummer Scream 2026 was the biggest event in the history of the summertime Horror convention. Aside from a detour in Pasadena for COVID-19 precautions, the event has taken over the Long Beach Convention Center in the late summer every year. That all changes in 2027 though. The event has outgrown the Long Beach Convention Center and is heading to the Anaheim Convention Center from August 6th-8th, 2027.

The announcement was made before the Halloween Horror Nights panel closed out the 2026 event. That wasn’t it, though; we also got an announcement that fans of the horror convention have been waiting for.

Season’s Screamings Returns In 2027

The holiday variant of Midsummer Scream is keeping the dream alive at the Long Beach Convention Center for holiday horror fans. From December 4th-5th, the event takes over and keeps horror fans in their “birth venue”.

Tickets for both events go on sale early next year, with updates coming from the official Midsummer Scream channels.

What Is Season’s Screamings?

Season’s Screamings was a smaller-scale event that Midsummer Scream put on in 2021 and 2022 as a way to get back into the convention swing of things after COVID-19 disrupted so much. The event was smaller and happened in December with a bigger focus on the holiday horror side of things. They still had the same kind of events and showfloor like Midsummer Scream, but included more about Christmas and holidays.

There was even the Hall of Shadows with holiday-themed mazes for guests to go through. We wrote about the 2021 event in our review. Here’s what we had to say about it then:

Season’s Screamings was a breath of fresh air for a horror fan desperate to get back to the October season. Midsummer Scream might be on to something making the march to Halloween that much better with these smaller conventions on the way to their crown jewel in Midsummer Scream in July 2022.

With the event coming back to Long Beach for 2027, we can probably expect Season’s Screamings to be about the same size as a normal Midsummer Scream and Midsummer Scream 2027 to be the biggest event they’ve ever put on.
